Welcome to Clarity Companion. By using this website or the associated Progressive Web App (together, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. What Clarity Companion is (and isn’t)
Clarity Companion is a structured critical-thinking assistant that helps you analyze difficult interpersonal situations. It uses AI to help you separate facts from assumptions, consider multiple perspectives, and weigh possible response strategies.
Clarity Companion is not therapy, not medical or mental-health advice, and not a diagnostic tool. If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis or believe you or someone else is in danger, please contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional immediately.
2. Your account
You may use the Service without an account for a limited number of free analyses. To save your history, unlock additional features, or subscribe to Clarity Pro, you may create an account by signing in with Google.
You are responsible for the security of the account you use to sign in. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any person or group.
- Submit content that violates applicable laws or the rights of others.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service or its underlying models.
- Use the Service to make legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical decisions on behalf of yourself or others without independent qualified advice.
4. AI-generated content
The analyses produced by Clarity Companion are generated by large language models. They may contain errors, biases, or omissions and should not be treated as definitive advice. You are responsible for how you use, share, or act upon the output.
5. Subscriptions & billing
Clarity Pro is a paid subscription billed via Stripe. Prices and billing cycles are shown on the Pricing page at the time you subscribe. You can cancel any time from your account’s billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
6. Referral rewards
We may occasionally offer referral rewards (e.g., bonus analyses or promotional Pro access) when your friends sign up and use the Service. Rewards are for personal use only, are non-transferable, have no cash value, and may be modified or discontinued at our discretion.
7. Content ownership
You retain ownership of the situations, notes, and outcomes you enter into the Service. By using the Service you grant us a limited license to process this content to generate your analyses and to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
We claim no ownership of your inputs. We retain ownership of the Clarity Companion brand, software, and interface designs.
8. Availability & changes
We work to keep the Service available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we’ll do our best to notify you in-app or by email before they take effect.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or abuse the Service. If your account is terminated for cause, no refund is due for any unused subscription time.
10. Disclaimer & limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clarity Companion and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD $50 if you have not paid us.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Clarity Companion is operated. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless local consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
